I saw this and felt the need to comment:

http://www.gomanga.com/articles/extraextra/seven-seas-educates-monster-fan-masses-with-license-of-monster-girl-encyclopedia/817

It's not very long, but in case you really don't want to wade through those four short paragraphs, it's an announcement that Seven Seas (the same people that licensed Monster Musume, among other things), has licensed Monstergirl Encyclopedia.

Lots of people are saying lots of things and I'm just another voice in the crowd, but this is a blog, and on a blog, people generally soapbox. So, taking into account my opinion isn't any more important than anyone else's:

It's probably not the end of the world. In fact, it's probably not a bad thing at all.

It's easy (and kind of fun) to doomsay and wail about DMCA's and bellow countless tales of normalfags taking over X hobby and now they're coming for monstergirls, but the truth of it is, we don't know much, and what we do know is at least a little bit positive. If you're an optimist, Seven Seas' licensing of MGE may actually be a great thing.

We know that, based on Seven Seas' past, they're probably not going to go around and try to take down all MGE content in order to secure their precious shekels. I personally haven't heard of them asking anyone to take anything down, nor have I noticed their licensing of MM interfering with fan translations at all. Yes, there have been some takedown requests leveled at Batoto, but according to Seven Seas, they had nothing to do with that.

Seven Seas has outright stated they will not pursue takedowns of any fanworks or alternate hostings of fan-generated content: http://ask.fm/SevenSeasEntertainment/answer/134324821138
While I would expect them to try and take down any digital copies of their own planned publishing of the hardcover Encyclopedia, I do not expect them to go after fan translations. They still may, this is simply my interpretation of their answer. That answer isn't political speak. It's stating, in no uncertain terms, that the licensing of MGE will not lead to their requesting takedowns of MGE content.

As for the content of the publication, Seven Seas has said it will be "uncensored". My gut tells me the truth of it is, "mostly uncensored". I find it hard to believe they won't censor or 'creatively translate' a lot of the stuff about the Sabbath and lolis. KC loves his lolis as much as America loves making laws about that kind of shit. To my knowledge, there are no federal laws against lolis, but I believe several states have laws against it.

Now, for the last, more nebulous concern: growing popularity and intersection of fandoms. It's impossible to say exactly what will happen to 'monstergirls' as a whole. It's possible that the publishing of MGE in a physical form with official translations will do... absolutely nothing. Monstergirl 'awareness' (god that sounds painful to say) may increase a little, but MGE is mostly aimed at people who are already fans of monstergirls. It's not really a pandering product. Then again, if the right sjw gets their hands on it, it could gain a LOT of attention. The wrong kind of attention. Of course, seeing as it's from Japan, a lot of people will redirect their ire at Japan or KC directly, or perhaps wave it off as another Japanese thing. Who knows.

As far as dilution of fans: yes, there will almost certainly be at least 1 more person who takes part in monstergirl stuff (media, discussion, etc) due to this publication. And of the people that do this, it's more likely than not that a fair portion of them will be normalfags. But normies don't go to infinitychan, and they tend to not last long in /jp/. They don't read or write smut about fucking monstergirls. Normies aren't going to flood the places you go (any more than they already do).

Personally, I think it's a bit more of a good thing than it is a bad thing. But whatever, I'm just one guy.

Time to go back to writing about humans fucking monstergirls.

Considering it's been about a month, it's time for me to post an update on things.

Currently, I am still working on my primary project. I'm a little more than 15,000 words in, which means another 10,000 and I'll take a break to work on something else. That 10,000 will probably be done with in another 2-3 weeks, depending on how much time Christmas takes away from my writing.

I know I've had a while to think of what I'll do next, but I still don't know for sure. Ideas come and go, things crop up and disappear and my mind wavers from one thing to another.
-I'm still considering commissioning scans of a couple doujins then working on translating those.
-I really want to get Not the Fall finished. It's got maybe 2 chapters left.
-Multi-armed apophis trade might still happen. Unsure.
-Still really want to write Cheshire but I have a feeling any project with Cheshire will take a back seat to other things.
-Still want to write more manticore. I'm a bit more certain this will happen, it's just about when. I might do it first thing when I'm done with my primary project, I might put it off until after translations and Not the Fall. Dunno.

In other news, I have commissioned two different artists for two difference scenes from my stories. You'll know which ones when I post the art here.

Also, I added the name of my most recent translation. It's been done for a while, I just forgot to post the name of it on the sidebar.

Monday, November 9, 2015

I updated the list of monstergirl artists to commission here: http://rserenity.blogspot.com/2015/03/list-of-artists.html

Update on what I'm doing: more of my primary writing project. I've started another 25,000 word block and I'll probably finish up in a month.

Afterwards, there are a few things I'm considering:
-Commissioning scans of certain doujins I want to see but haven't shown up on the internet yet, then translating them.
-Finishing Not the Fall (I really need to do this)
-Writing multi-armed apophis (for a trade)
-Writing Cheshire
-Writing more manticore

But that's all just what I have in mind for now, nothing concrete. Who knows what will happen in the future? As for now, I'm focusing on my 25000 words.

Fly High or Not At All finished!

http://pastebin.com/1m5nbxmH

This is the dragongirl story I've been working on for some time and finally decided to put aside the time to finish it. I hope you all like it.

Next? I'll probably find a doujin to translate, get that done, and then move back on to my main writing project for another 25000 words.

Wednesday, September 23, 2015

It has been one month and fourteen days since I set out to get down 25,000 words of my story.

As of today, I have hit 25,020 words.

What does this mean? Well, for starters, it means I'm taking a break from that story. It doesn't mean I'm going to stop writing. There are still plenty of other things I want to do. The 25,000 word mark was meant to give me a clear place to take a break as well as give me a goal so I could motivate myself to keep moving forward.

So, what's next? I'm not completely sure. I do, however, have a list of priorities, one that goes something like this:

1. More of Not the Fall
2. Translate another doujin (the most recent Ahobaka scylla one comes to mind)
3. Finish the dragongirl short (there is no smut in this if you are wondering)
4. Write some fun smut

I don't know how long of a break I'll be taking from my primary project. Once I pick it up again, I plan on committing to another 25,000 words in much the same fashion as before. At the very least, I think I'll be releasing another chapter of Not the Fall and translating that doujin before I get back to it. If I keep my current writing schedule, another chapter shouldn't take too long.

Speaking of Not the Fall, I kinda cheated and wrote a Liess side-chapter already. I posted it on my pastebin a week ago. Here's the direct link if you want it: http://pastebin.com/n9Ew6niR

That's about everything. I may do regular Sunday updates like I used to while I'm on this break, or I'll just update whenever I finish something.

Thanks for reading.

Sunday, August 30, 2015

It's been a few weeks since I started working on my other story. With my 25000 word goal in mind, I have made it a little past 12,000 words, and missed 2 days of writing out of 21. I'm pretty happy with how close I've stuck to my plan and with the progress I've made so far.

Any monstergirl content is still on hold. I did notice there was a new slapstickstrike doujin scanned, but I have no intention of translating it, as I don't have any interest in any of the girls.

That's all for this update. Depending on my progress, you may see another update in another 3 weeks.

Sunday, August 9, 2015

I'm not going to pretend like I tried to get any work done this week. I was watching Dota 2's The International all week.

Now that it's done, however, I've decided I need to be more regimented with my writing. I'm not happy where I am right now as far as output and skill, so I'm going to start working to change that. While that does mean I'll be writing more (a lot more, if things go as I plan), it also means that what I'll be writing won't have anything to do with monstergirls or the story I have in progress (Not the Fall).

The fact of the matter is, people probably won't be interested in seriously critiquing/editing monstergirl stories, and I'm was never planning on getting serious with them either. They've always been on the 'hobby' side of writing. But I've been writing for years always with the intention of eventually writing something more marketable, both in subject matter and polish. So that's what I'm going to do.

As of right now, the plan is to write up 25,000 words (approximate) of this other story. This is hardly the entire story, but I don't want to mentally commit to doing the entire thing at once. I've got my daily word counts planned out, a calendar to mark progress, and a wealth of notes I've accumulated over a long period of time. It's possible when I get to that first goal, I'll decide to tackle another chunk of the story or maybe the rest of it. It's also possible I'll want to take a break and come back to something like Not the Fall or even finish up that dragongirl short.

As far as translating things, C88 is right around the corner and maybe I'll see something I'm interested in. Can't say for sure. Translating's a bit easier than writing so it's something I can do alongside writing. In other words, I don't expect to completely stop translating monstergirl things.

I know the few of you that follow my monstergirl writings may be disappointed, but I always knew I was going to have to make this choice sooner or later if I wanted anything serious to come out of my writing. Now just feels like the right time.

Thank you for reading.

Finished up the translation of the moth doujin and uploaded that to sadpanda. Next I'll be going back to editing Great Monster Journey. Still quite a bit to get through. I also think I'll be adding another scene to the end of the story. I'm not intending on getting back to Not the Fall just yet, still have to figure out a few things concerning the ending.

More translating work on the moth doujin. Updated progress on the side.

Sunday, July 12, 2015

Stepping away from writing for a little to translate the mothgirl doujin. Progress on the side as always.

More writing and editing of Chapter 8 of Fall this week. It's done, I'm just waiting a little bit to post it.

I've also been editing GMJ (Great Monster Journey). It's something I've wanted to do for a long time and with Fall being so hard to write, I figured it would be a good time to step away and find something else to do. My plan is to make GMJ much shorter, remove storylines I didn't like and strengthen the ones I liked but didn't execute so well. I will probably also write and least one more scene toward the end of the story.

Tuesday, June 23, 2015

Just finished Fall chapter 8 rough draft. Moving onto editing. I can't say I'm happy with it as it is, but hopefully editing will help to get my thoughts sorted out and let me figure out what it is specifically I'm unsatisfied with.

Monday, June 15, 2015

Sorry I haven't updated on Sundays like usual. I've been having a hard time coming up with the next chapter of Fall and I'm not sure why. Brain's just moving slow I guess. It'll be done soon enough. I updated the percent complete on the sidebar.

Sunday, May 31, 2015

This week involved some writing for Fall, but on Saturday a marilith / kankandara doujin came out and I spent a LOT of time on that translation. Just finished it and uploaded it to sadpanda, title is in the sidebar as usual.

Lazy week, due to the release of the Witcher 3 and my attempt at beating Kotor 2. I'm also knee-deep in the smut of Reverse Gloryhole, which is difficult for me to write if I'm not really in the mood for it. Today, however, I got a lot of it done.

Another update, because today the lastest slapstickstrike raw finally made it to sadpanda. I'll be translating that before I do anything else. Shouldn't take too long, I'm already 8 pages into it.

After that, I'll continue as planned.

I also removed the 'Intending on Starting' section on the side because it wasn't really being used at all. Maybe I'll get around to the brothel comic, maybe not. But it's so irrelevant and far off that it's not worth putting up.

Saturday, May 9, 2015

It's Saturday, but since I just released the next chapter of Not the Fall, I figured I'd make my update post today instead.

Here's the link to the chapter: http://pastebin.com/pBuaHwDx
And the art that goes with it: https://i.imgur.com/xL5IOek.png

I'm pretty happy with the art. Artist is Magnifire.

Next will be a manticore short I felt like doing called Reverse Gloryhole. You can guess as to what that will be. It's not going to be too long, maybe in the ballpark of 6000 words, but it will push back chapter 8 of Fall a bit.

Also, since the List of Artists has fallen off the front page, I added a direct link to it in the About Me section.

Not much writing done this week. I released the next chapter of Not the Fall, but mostly I switched to translating the new T-Rex manga. If you want a look at it, you can find it here. I only translated the last couple pages, but chapter 2 (not yet released) was all my translation soon to be edited by the other TL's who know tone and Japanese in general a lot better than me. I was only asked to help with chapters 1 and 2, so I expect to get back to more Not the Fall this week. It's been nice translating with people to look over my stuff, since thusfar I've been winging it. If I screw something up, there's someone to actually tell me I screwed up now. I'm also feeling more comfortable with Japanese. My vocabulary has always been the largest barrier, but I'm starting to recognize a lot more kanji and by translating, I remember what I see a lot better. Still a long ways to go, though.

Progress on Not the Fall. Might have been able to finish this week if not for Easter.

Been looking forward a bit as to what my next project might be. I'm going to try translating a few MGQ 4komas after I'm done with Fall, or earlier if I find time. Then I'll probably find a translation project (I've had several requests already), then I might see about that scientist-studying-monstergirls project I mentioned a little while back.

Progress on It's Not the Fall That Kills You, should be done tomorrow. It's been a little rough getting back into the swing of it, but I'm keeping my quota for the most part. MGQ Paradox makes a very convincing distraction.

Still thinking about what to do after this story is finished.

This week I finished up Beyond the End 8/Monkue Nabe. Took 10 days in all, better than I expected. You can find the finished translation on sadpanda.

I mentioned some future ideas for stories in last week's post, but those are still a little ways off. First, I need to finish up It's Not the Fall That Kills You. I'll also be writing more of the dragongirl short every now and then when I have time and ideas. I'm not entirely sure how long Not the Fall will end up being. My original idea was to keep it at 12 chapters, and based on my history of predicting length, it'll probably end up closer to 15 or 16. Hopefully I can release a chapter ever weekend, but I'm not promising anything. It'll be done when it's done.

After that, well, I'm still most interested in the futuristic researcher story idea, and it still seems feasible, but I can't say anything for sure. I'll keep you updated as I figure things out.

First off, progress: Finished 32 pages of translation since last post. Haven't written anything. If you haven't already, check out my previous post with links to my newest writings and the pictures I commissioned for them. There's also info about artists if you're thinking about commissioning something yourself.

As far as when I'll finish BTE8, I'm not sure. I'm aiming for next Saturday, but depending on how much I get done today it might be earlier. I would definitely say not before Wednesday.

Since I've finally made some real progress with writing in finishing P&L and posting Marilith's Massage along with it, I've given more thought to what I'm going to write next. As I said before, It's Not the Fall will come right after I'm done with this translation, but I've also been throwing around ideas of what my next writing project might be. I like succubi and lilim and I haven't had a chance to write them yet, so I want to do something with them. Here are my ideas at the moment:

- A story set in the MGE world, involving a man who tries and fails miserably to get the attention of a lilim and is forced to work on himself in order to be seen as interesting. He's helped in this by an oddly invincible middle-aged man and a lilim that tries her best to remain obscure to the rest of the world. I was thinking the lilim the man is trying to get the attention of is Mari since 1) I find her interesting and 2) she fits the role quite well, a boisterous and powerful lilim who cares more about exploring the world than taking it over. The problem with this idea, however, is that the story I'm thinking of would have to be of some length, but I don't have the ammunition to fill out a story of the length I have in mind, if that makes sense. If it doesn't: I basically have a core concept that I find interesting but I don't know how to flesh out all the details. This story would require the most work to figure out before I could start writing it.

- A contemporary fiction on a much smaller scale. A man is attacked by a succubus in the depths of night and things go as you would usually expect a succubus attack to go until the point where the succubus is ready to finish up. She keeps draining the man, yet no matter how much she pulls from him, he doesn't die, to the confusion of both participants. The rest of the story is about the succubus stalking the man, finding myriad ways to seduce or trick him into sex than draining him beyond what should kill him. The man has to figure out how to either escape her neverending hunting or convince her to stop, at the same time finding out why the hell her attacks don't kill him.

- Finally, the most ambitious idea I have and the one I want to do most. At its core, it's a tale about a scientist, one of many sent out into the reaches of space to find a way to help humanity survive a disease of infertility. He comes across a planet filled with monstergirls and takes them up into his ship, one at a time, to study them. He's surprised to find how human-like they are and their mating compatibility, but is also driven to find out why. It wouldn't be a typical chapter-by-chapter format. Rather, I'd release logs and journals about each monstergirl as he studies them. These would be much shorter (1-2k words) than my typical chapters (4-6k words) but released more frequently. In addition, there would be a main storyline progressed by less-regular personal journal updates where the man talks about how things are going, any communication with home base, and his personal thoughts on the situation. These would progress the core story, and every now and then something unexpected would happen. I have several ideas for the "unexpected", one being that one of the monsters corrupts the AI on the ship into becoming curious about the scientist in exactly the way you're thinking. I don't want to go into any more of these ideas and spoil the surprise should I ever get around to this story.
That's just the cool part, though. There are two big challenges I think that would come with this story. First, the presentation. I think this would ideally be it's own website, like a wiki, with the most recent main story journal on the front page and links to the monstergirls already studied. I would have to make it so the monstergirl study logs contain practically no reference to the story progression so people could read the logs in whatever order they want, or divvy up the logs into tiers of some sort based on significant events in the main story. I'm still thinking on this.
Second, I kind of want to release a new picture with each monstergirl log I post. There are a few reasons for this. The logs are short, so it would add some content to the log as a whole. It would also show the monstergirl in a new context (a lab on a spaceship), which gives the reader both a visualization of the individual monstergirl and the environment in which this is all taking place. I really think these three things are quite important, to the point I don't think this would project would be much without the images. So I'd need to either find an artist affordable enough to commission X number of pictures from them, or convince one or more of the resident drawfags to get on board with this.
As I said, it's an ambitious project, but I think it could be really cool if I pulled it off.

That's all for my rambling. Here's my day-by-day progress as usual:

List of Artists

UPDATE 11/9/2015:
It's been a long time since I've done commissions, so some of this information may be outdated. I've removed some artists that I thought were inactive or maybe not quite as good as the others. Again, since this is a monstergirl-oriented list, I'm fairly certain these artists all do mosntergirls. Most do NSFW as well.

I know finding good artists to commission can be difficult, especially for monstergirls where the anatomy is particularly challenging and all the resident drawfags (mono, Mari, Loen) are already completely booked or otherwise unavailable.

DISCLAIMER: Besides the three artists I personally worked with, I know NOTHING about these artists besides what's stated on their pages. Most of the comments here are my impressions, nothing more, nothing less. I encourage you to contact the artists if you want to know more and take nothing here as gospel.

I worked with 3 different artists (the third has yet to deliver) and researched many more. I want to share my experience and research so other people can benefit from it. I've got a few different priorities when looking for/judging an artist: skill/style (I was mostly looking for anime/far eastern style artists, but western can be okay too), availability (do I have to wait 2 weeks while they get through a queue 30 people deep or can they start working the day I give my request?), price (does the price double for a second character? Is color affordable? Does cost match skill?), attitude/work ethic (are they going to be dragging their feet and making excuses or get to it? Do they communicate enough?).

EUDETENIS :
Probably the most skilled artist out of all the artists I looked at, with reasonable prices for her ability. She doesn't do her commissions  as you might typically think. She does 3-4 slots a day and spends all weekend doing commissions on stream. I waited a little under 2 weeks to have mine done. I didn't watch her draw it myself, but I would imagine she'll take input while she works. While she's a bit light on the communication, she talks to you as much as she needs to, offering a rough sketch then some back-and-forth while you work out the details. For me this happened the day before she started drawing. She also shows the list of people she's doing commissions for the current day so you know about what time of day yours will be done. Also, she had a very clear, helpful chart with examples of all of her prices and drawing options.

Magnifire :
I picked him because I liked a few of his other pictures, but it turned out he was also very quick-working and maintained steady, helpful communication. While Eudetenis was the better artist, I'd much rather commission from him again. I waited 8 days to get the finished product, but he replied to the initial request quicker than anyone else and told me about when he'd be able to start on mine. I wouldn't say I'm 100% satisfied with the drawing (Val's expression looks a little vacant and her body language isn't completely into it) but it's still awfully good and he offered a very fair price for his work. He's also done monstergirls in the past, so if you're looking to commission one, I'd recommend him.

LiquidMark :
The third artist I commissioned. Seems like a pretty cool guy. A decent amount of communication. Most of the time when there were delays, he told me why, and they weren't just excuses, they were actual reasons. He's tried to accommodate my request, despite its difficulty (it's more difficult than the other 2 commissions). Hasn't complained about it at all. Price is maybe a little high compared to an identical commission from another artist of similar skill, but I liked his flavor of western style. Despite all these positives, however, he just hasn't delivered. It's been a month and a half now since I paid. For 3 of those weeks, he had legitimate reasons for delays, but I feel like enough time has passed for him to at least show a sketch or communicate something more to me without me having to ask first. Don't have anything personal against him, I just want what I paid for. I'd still probably recommend him for people looking for a western-style image, as long as you don't have a particularly challenging request.

Here are the other artists I considered but never actually worked with in no particular order (most of these artists are open to NSFW requests):
less - consistently skilled drawings at a good price, but there's a bit of a waitlist. If you're willing to wait, I would recommend him. Has said he's not interested in drawing manticores anymore.
cherryinthesun - looks incredibly skilled, especially with color, and always had a commission slot open, but just too pricey (150$ for what I wanted) for me. Part of that price is probably for her availability.
emperpep - liked his skill, and seemed available, but again, too pricey.
razadrazartsu - pretty good prices, but I simply couldn't get a good gauge of her skill and if she'd pull off my request how I wanted it. Very nearly commissioned her.
ekalos - Great artist. Would've commissioned him, but he opens slots monthly, which means if you don't get your request early on in the month, you're going to have to wait till the next month, and even then it's not guarenteed. Prices looked pretty good, as long as you stick to 1 character.
Fizzz - Western style artist. Wasn't all that interested in western style, but if I was and hadn't found liquidmark, I probably would've gone with him. Good prices.
Grillo - He's not as good as cherryinthesun or Eudetenis, but he's still pretty good and charges like half of what they do. I didn't find him until I'd already submitted my three requests, but I would've picked him as my third if I knew about him.
Ryumo - drew a ushi-oni commission. Looks pretty good. After glancing at her prices, they do seem to get expensive for more detailed/colored pieces, but the skill looks to match the price. No NSFW from what I can tell.
tscbr - Looking at his art, some of his characters look a tad scrawny, but there are some fantastic pieces there too. For the price, I would definitely say he's worth it.
Nayuruu - Not much to say here. Another option with good prices and fairly skilled from his pictures. Communication was a bit slow when I tried talking with him.
Kukuruyo - Looks to have some experience with monstergirls. Pretty thick lines; it's a style I like but maybe some aren't as interested. Cheap prices for full shaded coloring.
Jenna - Drew some really nice manticore pictures. A unique and pleasing style. From those who have commissioned her, however, impressions have been "mixed" based on responsiveness.
osiimi-chan - Looks very good. Good quality, good prices, and from what I've heard she's fairly responsive.
Lightsource - Style is distinctive, characters look more round, I think. Bit more experience with monstergirls and nonhuman anatomy than most.
Figgotry - Drawfag who did some monster musume stuff. One of the cheaper ones but really no drop in quality.

How did I find most of these people? Google. There are 3 sites I searched, HF, DA, and pixiv, using this exact search phrase:
site:whatever.com "commissions"
whatever.com being which of the 3 sites I wanted to search. I also tried "commission".
It's finally that time. Passion and Lust 5 has been approved on Literotica. My other story was approved a few days before that. Here are the links:

I realize the ending of P&L may be a bit sudden, but the truth is I had planned it to be about twice as long, which the second half being mostly Lust & Allen as they tried to rescue Val from the clutches of a 3rd party (another spirit) but when I got to chapter 5 I realized I didn't have it in me to write all that out. So yes, the ending comes a little quick.

However, I have something I hope will make up for it. Since I took so damn long to get that last chapter of P&L out (chapter 4 was posted last Feburary), I figured it'd be nice to add a little something else. So I commissioned two pictures of Val showing Allen a good time.

http://i.imgur.com/Pk5HEVV.jpg (by EUDETENIS) - So this picture I want to add a bit of a disclaimer to: it's not really how I see Val. Val's got darker skin and she's not so scawny. However, I can't really blame the artist for this, she drew exactly what I told her to draw. I've never commissioned anything before, so I didn't realize exactly how specific you have to be. Also, to her benefit, she actually drew a more realistic stature for a taller woman than I had pictured in my head. In addition to all that, I will say that the woman looks a LOT like how I pictured Lust. Exchange those extra arms for succubus wings and make her hair dirty blonde, and you've pretty much got Lust.

http://i.imgur.com/wnzfCj9.png (by Magnifire) - Magnifire had an advantage with drawing this because he was able to use Eudetenis' picture as a reference. I was able to be more specific and told him all the differences from the reference I wanted to see and he delivered quite well.

It seems I goofed a bit. When I submitted the final chapter of P&L to Literotica, I had a 1-sentence "see my member page for more" at the end of it. Checking Literotica's submission guidelines, I didn't see any rules about self-promotion, but as I hadn't seen it in anyone else's stories, I figured I'd just direct people to my blurb on Literotica, and from there they could find a link to this blog. Surely they wouldn't object to pointing people to their own site?

Well, actually, yes. I saw today they rejected the submission because there's no self-promotion allowed in stories. I checked their guidelines again but didn't see anything about it. I'm not going to stress too much about it, as Literotica has never been the most organized site, but it does mean another 3-7 day wait until you see it show up.

As far as translations go, Monkue Nabe is going along fine. Typesetting for the first story is a little more troublesome than I thought it would be, but Setouchi doesn't write much text on any given page, so the typesetting hasn't slowed me down much. The translation's been surprisingly frustrating. Usually I can take a good guess at what a sentence is going to say before I get it typed in and start using translation aides, but I haven't been able to do that so much here. I think the character from the first story is using some slang, but I know absolutely no slang in Japanese, so I'm having to slog through it with what makes sense in the context. Again, though, I don't see this slowing me down much. You can see the progress on the sidebar, as always.

Progress on Passion and Lust and the other thing I plan on posting with it. They're both effectively finished, as in there's nothing more for me to write, but I still need to edit them, which is going to take at least a day, probably more. Not a full week, though.

I plan on posting Passion and Lust on Literotica just like with all the other chapters, which means there's going to be about a 4-7 day delay (that's about how long submissions take to be reviewed and approved there from my past experience). If you are absolutely desperate to read it, I can post an unlisted version on pastebin. Once the full thing is on Literotica, I suppose I'll post the whole thing as 1 post on pastebin.

Once I'm done with it all, I'll make another post here with all the links. I usually do a post-mortem for all my stories of decent length, but there's not much to say about P&L. I found something hot, I thought up a feasible situation to put it in, then wrote it.

Plans for the coming weeks:
-I took a look at Monkue Nabe (aka Beyond the End 8) to figure out how difficult the translation would be. The translation by itself will be simple enough, I've yet to encounter anything too complex, so the real question is typesetting. Monkue Nabe looks like it'll be pretty simple to typeset, as the speech bubbles aren't extremely vertical and there isn't too much writing over background. However, there is still a LOT of text to go through! It's 80 pages long, and while about 20 of those have minimal or no text, that still makes it the longest thing I've ever translated. I'm going to give it a shot, but it will likely take 2 weeks minimum. Longer if the translation or typesetting run into unexpected difficulty. For comparison, 'Delicious Lakeside Town' was 28 pages and took me over 3 weeks, but the typesetting was a complete nightmare in comparison. I also want to mention that if the raws for slapstickstrike's most recent doujin pop up, I might put this on hold to translate and typeset that. It's much shorter and just as easy to typeset, so that wouldn't that more than 3-5 days.
-After that, I'll be shift back to writing. That means the continuation of It's Not the Fall and gradual progress on the dragongirl short you can see in the sidebar.

I also want to start posting my daily word counts here. It's intended both to show how much I've written and to keep myself from slacking off. Of course, it's not going to mean much while I'm working on translations as opposed to stories, but I need to be consistent for it to help me.

Progress on Passion & Lust.

Seems I'm terrible at predicting the actual length of my chapters. This isn't the first time it's happened. I wrote about as much this week as I did last week, there's just more to write than I thought there would be.

Also, anonymous comments have been enabled, if you want to say something but don't want to make an account.

Progress on Passion and Lust, but not as much as I wanted. However, I have been quite busy with writing this week on the other thing. If I get as much done this upcoming week as I have this week, P&L will definitely be finished. The next chapter is the final chapter.

Also will probably try and translate typeset something the week after, meaning other writing projects are going to be pushed back further.

Progress on Passion and Lust. Really want to get this done before going back to anything else.

I might have a little something extra to go along with the final chapter's release when it's finished.

Progress made on Passion and Lust 5 and It's Not the Fall.

Typesetting finished on  Watashi no Koibito o Shokai Shimasu! EX2.

Considering translating some 4komas from a certain artist on pixiv.

This blog is mainly for status updates and to compile everything I've done, translations and stories, in one place. I'll keep a tracker on the sidebar for things that I'm working on, things I've completed, and things I'm looking at starting in the future.
